Reflections from the IMD International Search Group Annual Meeting in Helsinki

Reflections from the IMD International Search Group Annual Meeting in Helsinki

Last month, IMS Talent had the pleasure of hosting the IMD International Search Group Annual Meeting in Helsinki.

Over several days, colleagues from across the global IMD network came together to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, and discuss the evolving landscape of leadership, executive search, and organizational development. Bringing together professionals from different markets and industries created an inspiring environment for open dialogue, shared learning, and future collaboration.

One of the key themes throughout the meeting was the accelerating impact of AI on business and leadership. Discussions focused not only on how artificial intelligence is transforming executive search itself, but also on how organizations assess leadership capabilities in an increasingly technology-driven environment. The conversations highlighted both the opportunities AI creates and the importance of human judgement, cultural understanding, and trust in leadership decisions.

We also had the privilege of hearing thought-provoking external perspectives during the event. Discussions around geopolitics, business uncertainty, leadership expectations, and changing boardroom dynamics offered valuable insights into the challenges organizations face today. These conversations reinforced how rapidly the expectations placed on leaders continue to evolve.

Another important milestone during the meeting was the introduction of IMD’s renewed shared values: Trust, Collaboration & Entrepreneurship. These values strongly reflect the way our international network operates — built on long-term relationships, openness, local expertise, and a shared ambition to create value for clients across borders.

For IMS Talent, hosting the meeting was both an honor and an excellent reminder of the importance of international collaboration. In a world where leadership challenges are increasingly global, strong partnerships and trusted networks matter more than ever.

We would like to warmly thank all IMD colleagues and guests for the inspiring discussions, valuable insights, and excellent company throughout the week. It was a pleasure to welcome you to Helsinki.
